Klang zur Stille zum Klang

video installation | direction Ines Birkhan & Bertram Dhellemmes | 2005

premiered in Mythen für die Zukunft | Cabaret Renz, Vienna | January 2006

Klang zur Stille zum Klang is based on the principle of the video novel,
where the multimedia process of combined images, sounds and texts
allows an exploration of an ‘extended field of literature’. It intends to
propose a complexity of perception that requires the full involvement
of the audience, as well as openness at different intellectual and
emotional levels, thus renewing the fundamental experience of reading.

The proposal of a framed time for reading provides a musicality that is
not contented in the audible but in the structural perception of time. The
images are not anymore the center of the proposal but a sensitive
background that prepare the reception of the text, and the music is
building a homogenous environment.

The Mythen für die Zukunft series also includes the videos den kreisrunden Todengwalzer tanzen and Runterkommen.
